Spirax Sarco (stand 2505) will be at The Energy Event, NEC Birmingham, 13-14th September, to give expert advice on how to improve steam system efficiency, reducing carbon emissions and saving thousands from the bottom line.

Among the range of products on display will be the new Spirax Sarco Targeted Variable Area (TVA) Steam Flowmeter. Energy savings from targeting and monitoring initiatives require accurate measurement across the minimum and maximum steam flowrate. Spirax Sarco’s TVA flowmeter uses an innovative cone design to accurately measure steam at variable flowrates. The flowmeter can also be installed in most confined spaces, as it doesn’t require long lengths of uninterrupted pipe to ensure accuracy.

Visitors to the stand will also be able to see Spirax Sarco’s unique Super Insulated Vacuum Steam Line (SIVSL). Soon to be released in the UK, the SIVSL presents an innovative approach to pipe insulation, using vacuum technology to give the lowest operating cost of any insulation system.

Spirax Sarco engineers will also be on the stand ready to talk about the complete and flexible range of services and training programmes available to bolster your green credentials, improve energy efficiency and meet environmental targets. Services range from a steam trap survey to project managing a complete new boiler house, and everything in between.

Many steam users have already identified the “easy wins” for improving their efficiency and profitability. Spirax Sarco’s in-depth understanding can push that process of improvement further to promote long-term sustainability, both for the environment and the business.

Throughout the exhibition Spirax Sarco will be looping two free, on-stand seminars, on how steam system users can look to improve sustainable operations.

Mike Griffin, Spirax Sarco’s UK Technical Manager (Steam Systems Conditioning), will be explaining how steam system users can make significant energy savings from developments in water treatment technology. Recent technical innovations and increasing pressure to save energy and resources mean that today’s reverse osmosis systems could help many steam plant users who may never have considered them before. Spirax Sarco reverse osmosis systems can make a significant contribution to energy savings by slicing 3% off the fuel bills of a typical steam user.

Steve McKie, Spirax Sarco’s National Specialist on Sustainability, will be discussing the low carbon steam plant. With legislative measures such as the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme creating targets for businesses to reduce CO2 emissions, the pressure is on plant managers to save energy and reduce costs. Steve will explain what technologies and techniques are available to steam system operators to help them meet upcoming energy efficiency targets.
