Sixteen teams once again battle it out in the Chinese top flight and there is sure to be a battle for the title, AFC Champions League places and survival. The reigning champions are Shandong Luneng Taishan FC and they are currently third in the table after 18 rounds of fixtures.

Shandong Luneng Taishan FC were winners of the inaugural Chinese Super League in 2010, finishing a comfortable 13 points clear of second-placed Tianjin Teda FC. However, this time around it is them who are trailing by some distance, 14 points behind Guangzhou Evergrande. However, they are three points behind second-placed Beijing Gouan.
