The device is the latest of the touch screen devices introduced to the market by Archos. Archos may not be as well known as Apple, but they have released touch screen devices ranging from those with a 2.8 inch screen to those with a screen as large as the iPad.
The Archos 101 is a “10 inch Android device that features a capacitive display, HDMI output and front facing camera among others. Archos did not deviate from the path of what has worked for them in the past, so the http://tabletandroidreviews.com/review-archos-101-internet-tablet/ - Archos 101 is not much different in appearance of the Archos 9 PC Internet Tablet, which is the previous generation. The most noticeable differences would be the placement of a few buttons. The appearance is very sleek with a brushed black aluminum border with a chassis of black plastic. There are two panels located on the back of the device that are also made from brushed black aluminum and one of the most striking features is the very slim but sturdy design.
One of the best features of the Archos 101 is that it is very portable. It measures in at just 0.7 of an inch thick and weighs in around two pounds. The design is very clean so that there is no risk of bumping or pushing any buttons accidentally. Instead, all of the buttons and ports on the tablet are featured on the left side of the device. On the left hand side of the tablet there is a volume rocker, the power switch, a headphone jack, USB, micro USB, and micro SD slots as well as a min HDMI port. Additionally, there is a port for the power plug on this left hand side. A nice thing about this unit is that it is also equipped with a VGA webcam that is on the left of the screen.

The unit will come with all of the Android live wallpapers, including a changing sky that changes from night to day. The screen is a 10.1 inch capacitive touch screen display that has a resolution of 1024 x 600. The screen supports a multi touch gestures including pinch to zoom, which makes it a great unit to play games on.
Internet tablets are all the rage today. They allow people to go anywhere with the power of the internet with them. It is better than a laptop because it doesn’t take up much space, and it has all of the benefits of a smart phone, as well, with features like the pinch to zoom and touch screen capabilities. While the Archos 101 will not be for everyone, it will certainly be a great option for those who are looking for a powerful alternative to the iPad.
